1. Clean gutters thoroughly, checking for leaks at corners or seams,
and repair as needed. It is important to check that existing gutters
are sloped and flowing properly to ensure Gutterguard will work
properly.
2. With a sharp knife, cut and remove existing cone from the top
of the plastic outlet at the top of the downpipe. Make sure to remove
all protrusions from outlet cone to prevent debris blockage as it
flushes down outlet.
3. Start installing
Gutterguard with a 1" overlap leaving a 12" open section
over each downpipe outlet. Install a 13" section of Guttergaurd
over this open area as an access hatch for future inspections.
4. Lay Gutterguard
in place over mouth of gutter, with the front screw flange on the
front lip of gutter ( see diagram ) and the rear screw flange resting
near the back of the gutter. Screw through the front screw flange
into the front lip of gutter approximately every 2 feet with small
screws no longer than 5/8".
5. Overlaps: Overlap
each 8' length approximately ½"- 1" Screw fasten
in center of Gutterguard to join into next piece. At overlaps, screw
rear screw flange into rear of gutter and fascia board with 1"
wood screws. Do not screw too tight to draw Gutterguard into fascia
board.
6. Outside / Inside Corners : Cut Gutterguard at 45 degree angle
allowing ½" - 1" overlap as above, and use same
method of fastening. Remember center screw at overlap.
